2D & concept artist
Since video games plays such a central role in the film I was tasked with coming up with the visuals and production of the game “skateboard pig”. There was a few general points it had to hit, but otherwise I was very free to come up with ideas, visuals and solutions. All work below is made by me unless stated otherwise.
The film was directed by Rasmus Sivertsen
Animated preview of the game as it appeared in several shots. This was used as a proof of concept to land on the direction for the in-game visuals.
An early exploratory piece of concept art of Hedvig playing games
Concept art and visual exploration
These were the elements sent as the first suggestion for how the game could look. I worked partly to figure out an appealing art style as well as building something in a way that I could reasonably put together on my own later on when the actual shots needed to be made. Ultimately we didn’t need as much as we planned for, but most of these elements helped set the tone for what we needed to make
Exploring the character and how movement could be juiced up with extra FX
My idea was to have sweets and foods as bonus items. Would fit well into having a distinct, easily recognizable color palette and feels fairly retro designwise
Logo variations
If needed, this would've been the supporters cheering you on
Videos of extra scenes
The film required the main character to be good at some kind of rhythm game, so we came up with the idea of having a drum/concert mock mini-game within Skateboard pig.
The entire animated segment used early in the film. This was later iterated on by other artists.
